Welcome to the What Is My Oil Filter blog

Welcome to the blog. This is where we’ll publish longer-form content that doesn’t fit in the lookup table: hands-on filter reviews, explainers on the specifications themselves, the occasional sponsored deep dive (always clearly labeled), and notes on when OEM part numbers change mid-year.

What you’ll find here

A few categories we’re planning to cover:

  • Product reviews. Filter teardowns, oil comparisons, tool reviews — what’s worth buying and what isn’t.
  • How the specs work. What the grade on the bottle actually means, cartridge versus spin-on, what an oil-life monitor is counting, and why a cross-reference number is not the same thing as an equivalent.
  • Industry news. When a manufacturer changes a spec mid-cycle (the way Ford did with the 2024 MPC EcoBoost transition), we’ll write it up.
  • Sponsored posts. Occasionally a brand will pay us to cover a product. When that happens, you’ll see a clearly labeled disclosure box at the top of the post — and our opinion will still be our opinion.

How sponsored content works

If you see a “Sponsored” badge on a post, it means a brand paid us, sent us product, or both. We disclose this prominently and follow FTC guidelines. We never disguise sponsored content as a regular review. Affiliate links throughout the site (including in posts) earn us a commission if you buy through them — at no extra cost to you.

What’s next

We’ll be adding posts roughly weekly, sometimes more. If there’s a vehicle, product, or topic you’d like us to cover, get in touch.
